Flood Information

The links below provide information related to flood hazards as well as development in flood prone areas such as floodplains and floodways.

If you have determined that your new construction or substantial improvement project will be located within a Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA), your project will be required to comply with County Code Section 16.10.070(f) for floodplain development, Section 16.10.070(g) for floodway development or Section 16.10.070(h)5 for coastal high hazard flooding.

For all other projects in a SFHA (including grading, utilities, etc.), compliance with applicable County Codes, building codes, and FEMA regulations may be required. Please visit the Planning Department during business hours and talk to a Resource Planner for additional information.
